Onyx is a mineral that is valued for its unique beauty, durability, and spiritual and cultural significance. It is a type of chalcedony that is formed in caves or other areas where water collects and evaporates over time, leaving behind layers of minerals which show up as bands of color, however solid black is commonly how it is seen in jewelry. It is a hard stone that can be highly shined. I use Black Onyx in my jewelry often because I love black stones and love how versatile it is.
